What is Migraine - Defination of Migraine
Migraine is a paroxysmal disorder characterized by attacks of throbbing headache, varied in intensity, frequency and duration, commonly unilateral in onset, and usually associated with anorexia and sometimes with nausea, vomiting, photophobia, phonophobia and blurring of vision. The headache may be preceded by transient focal neurologic symptoms known as aura. Migraine is the most common primary headache disorder and about 18 percent of women and 6 percent of men suffer from migraine. The prevalence of a family history of migraine is suggestive of a genetic component in the disease.
